A few years ago, I decided I wanted to leave my full time job and become a filmmaker. In my first year as a freelancer I realized that I didn't know a lot. Even with film school education under my belt, I wasn't ready for what the film industry had in store for me. I also found out that the entry level film positions did not pay enough to take care of a household.
So I had to come up with a plan. Becoming a filmmaker was hard. I continued to push through and in 2022 I became a member of The Directors Guild of America CQL. Since then I have worked as a 1st Assistant Director on over 7 projects.
I'm here to help upcoming filmmakers learn what it took for me to get to the level I am now. We will discuss everything from production jobs, production lingo, set etiquette and how to create your own short film. So gear up and get ready for the time of your life. This will be a five hour workshop where we can discuss set etiquette, production jobs, production lingo production communication and understanding a call sheets. We will do a lot of hands on training to build up your confidences to be on a set . I'll be sending you a questionnaire before our session to better understand your goal as a filmmaker. Be sure to have all of your questions ready and something on hand to take notes with.

10 - Hour Group Workshop
This will be a 10 hour workshop where we will discuss each stage of a production assistant job, set lock ups, prep, production and how to wrap out a set. Get ready to feel as if you are on set and getting ready for production. I will expect you to come to this workshop production ready. I'll be sending you a questionnaire before our session starts to better understand your level of knowledge. Be sure to have all of your questions ready and something on hand to take notes with.

Filmmaker Experience
Get ready for a full weekend experience. You will gear up with equipment after all the courses and shoot your first short film. This will be a production you can place on your resume under KaeCole Media to start off your career. You will be able to team up with other Peers and put on a real film production and I will be there to help you every step of the way. This experience also includes a viewing party celebration to showcase what you created during the workshop.
